Logoff Notification

alerts system administrators, during log off from the
system administration and maintenanc e interface, of possib le system
maintenance problems. This notific ation also alerts the system
administrators that features that present a sig nificant security risk are
enabled. A message d isplays on the system administration/ma intenance
interface during logoff if a security risk feature is enab led. Additionally, the
user can be required to acknowledge the notific ation before the logoff is
completed.
The system is delivered to the customer with one “ super-user” login a nd
password defined. The customer is required to administer any ad ditional
login and password s. The super-user login has full custom er permissions
and can customize any log in that they create. Login p ermissions are set
by the super-user to allow or bloc k any object that can affec t the health of
the switch. Up to 40 admini stration or maintenance objects (c ommands)
can be blocked for a specified login.

SYSAM-LC L por ts on t he TN16 48 SYSAM c ircu it pa ck lo cate d on PPN
control carriers. SYSAM-RMT is a dial-up remote access port reserved for
use b y INAD S. SYSAM-L CL is ac ces sed b y RS232 connec tors on the
TN1648. Two other maintenance users can log in by d ial-up System
Access Ports (SAPs) or by connecti ng directly to EPN Maintenance circ uit
packs.
Up to 5 maintenance and 5 ad ministration commands c an run
concurrently. Some commands that use the same resources as others
experience contention and cannot be run at the same time. For more
information on contention, see ‘‘Contention Between S imultaneous
Commands’’ in Chapter 8, ‘‘Maintenance Commands’’.
Switch-Based Bulletin Board
This feature allows a System Access Terminal (SAT) user to leave messages in
the system in order to communic ate with other system users.
NOTE:
This feature does not substitute for any existing p rocedures for escalating
problems. It is only an aid to the e xisting process.
Description
The bulletin board service p rovides an easy interface for the c ustomer and
Lucent to leave messages on the system.
The bulletin board feature makes it easy for the c ustomer to communicate with
Lucent (and vise versa). For example, when a new load is installed on a switch in
the customer’s system, Lucent is ab le to leave the customer messages that
describe any new func tions. It also allow Lucent to keep you inf ormed on the
progress of trouble items. In ad dition, you can use this feature to provid e
