R6r PPN to its new counterpart in the R6si SRPPN. The SREPN is now in the
Survivable Remote mode and has the cap abilities of an R6si EPN that has been
pre-translated with a

Disaster Recovery

configuration.
NOTE:
When SREPN feature is active, the EI circuit pack that is assigned to th e
SREPN and located in the R6r PPN is put in loopback mode.
Restoring Normal Service to the SREPN
!WARNING:

All calls within the SREPN are terminated when the SREPN feature is

returned to normal service.

To restore normal connections to the SREPN Expansion Interface (EI) circuit pack
in the R6r PPN you must:
1. Clear all errors logged ag ainst the R6r SREPN Expansion Interface (EI)
circuit pack b y using the suggested repair procedu res outlined in this
maintenance object.
2. At the SRP flip the 3-position switch on the TN2301 to the RSTR (restore)
or top position for at least 1 sec ond and return the switch to the AUTO, or
middle position.
3. After the SREPN slide switch has been restored to the normal position, test
the connectivity to R6r EI LAPD link, by using the sug gested proced ures
outlined in this maintenance ob ject.
4. After normal service is returned to the SREPN, the R6si SRPPN will be in
an

alarmed state

. This is

normal

for a R6si SRPPN and indicates the
SRSwitch (TN2301) has disconnected it from its neig hbor (EI in the
SREPN), and the R6si SRPPN is no longer in control. Connectivity has
been reestablished b etween the EI in the SREPN and its counterpart EI
circuit pack in the R6r PPN. The system is now in a normal R6r EI
configuration.
LEDs
SREPN Expansion Interface
The Expansion Interface circuit p ack has red, green, and y ellow LEDs. The red
and green LEDs show the standard c onditions:
Red indicates an alarm cond ition
Green indicates maintenanc e testing in progress
The yellow LED is used to provide useful visual status inform ation:
